Introducing Albert Palmer

Introducing another talented wedding photograher from Specialens.com.. Albert Palmer is  Bristol based wedding photographer with a creative reportage style. Started off just two years ago Albert has the skills and creativity to make each wedding special and unique..

{SL}Hi Albert, could you firstly tell our readers a little bit about yourself?

Albert Palmer Photography is me, Albert - a 29 year old full time professional wedding photographer living in Bristol. I started photographing weddings two years ago. The very first was for a friend. I asked her if I could take some photos of her getting ready as they didn’t have a photographer. I don't know why I asked her, I had no dreams of being a wedding photographer. But when I looked at the photos, I was amazed.

I loved them. I don't know how, but they were all so full of emotion. I showed the photos to my friend and she was overcome.

It wasn't the reaction I was used to from my day job, I can assure you of that. In my first year I was lucky enough to photograph 20 weddings. I then went full time in 2011 my second year and have done over 50. I don't really think of myself as ‘a business.' I do this because it makes people happy, and that makes me happy. And that’s what it’s all about, right?

{SL}Briefly, describe a typical day in Albert Palmer’s life.

It's very unglamorous. Emails, editing, admin and finance. At least I can do it in the comfort of my pyjamas.

{SL}When and why did you become excited about photography?

When I first started out I decided I wanted to take photographs that best represent the couple and the vibe of their day. People seem to hire my because of this. They want photographs that are a little bit different. A little bit more personal. They don’t expect me to walk in and setup the same 10 poses I do for every wedding. I try to use my instinct and capture what happens. There’s no formula. No rules. I don’t offer silver, gold and platinum packages. I’m there for the whole day. I’ve never been to a wedding that started at the ceremony and finished at the end of the speeches. So many moments happen outside of that small time frame.

{SL}What makes your job as a wedding photographer fantastic? Why do you love it so much?

I love making people happy. At the end of the night they can't thank me enough for my work, and when they see the photos it's an incredible reaction to witness.

{SL}How would you describe your photography style?

Creative reportage.

{SL}What has been your best memory since working as a wedding photographer?

I always love the ceremony. It's so full of emotion and the highlight of my day.

{SL}Where is your favourite shooting location and why?

It can be anywhere, as long as the light is good.

{SL}Any advice to couples when they start their wedding photographer search?

Make sure you get on with your photographer and are on the same creative page.
